The Secretary of State’s Office, Political Reform Division is pleased to announce multiple opportunities for qualified applicants to work as limited-term and limited-funded, full-time Staff Services Analyst positions (SSA). This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals who play a critical role in promoting transparency in the campaign finance and lobbying processes!
The Secretary of State’s Office, Political Reform Division, is replacing its California Automated Lobbyist and Campaign Contribution and Expenditure Search System (CAL-ACCESS) and requires multiple limited-funded positions to support business needs.
On-the-job training will be provided to allow the incumbent to gain an in-depth knowledge of the laws, regulations, and terminology relating to lobbying and campaign registration and disclosure requirements.
Under the general direction of the Compliance Unit Manager, a Staff Services Manager I, this limited-term and limited-funded, full-time position is responsible for a wide variety of increasingly complex and analytical tasks associated with the processing and review of registration and disclosure documents filed under the campaign and lobbying provisions of the Political Reform Act. The work is performed in an indoor office setting and requires the incumbent to have knowledge of office methods and procedures and have the ability to operate standard office equipment, type, sit, stand, and/or walk.


The incumbent will maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance. This position is not eligible for telework currently.

The Statement of Qualifications must be no more than two (2) pages typed, using business professional font, font size, and formatting. Please Note: In accordance with Government Code Sections 19080-19083 the position is established for 12 months and may be extended for another 12 months; and may become permanent.

Training and Development (T&D):
A Training and Development Assignment will be considered for Secretary of State candidates. Successful T&D candidates may be appointed to the classification at the end of the assignment.
