Job Description

Hours are Monday - Friday, 12 pm - 5 pm

POSITION SUMMARY:


In alignment with the Patient-Centered Medical Home model, the Switchboard Operator is responsible for promptly and professionally answering all incoming calls to ANHC including routing calls to appropriate person(s), queues, and/or taking messages according to established protocols. This is to ensure increased access, operational efficiencies, and enhanced patient experience for patients, staff, and providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for answering all incoming calls to ANHC
  • Promptly and accurately assesses caller needs and routes calls appropriately
  • Responsible for accurately processing telephone messages and assuring that the following is indicated; name of caller, nature of phone call, return phone number for caller and message directed to (employee or department name).
  • Provides service excellence to internal and external customers and all other individuals associated with ANHC
  • Promptly reports any issues that may arise that negatively affect daily operations to Patient Services Lead or Director of Practice Management
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPPORTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATIONS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Work Experience: Experience as an operator or similar position answering multi-line telephones preferable. Experience in a medical office setting and/or other customer service experience desirable. Good attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.

Education, Certification and Licensure: Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

Additional Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to sit for long periods of time and be able to hear, talk, write, and type.

Work is performed in a healthcare clinic and office setting. ANHC is a tobacco-free campus.
