Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in tax related field
- CPA license required
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including federal, state, and local tax laws regulations and reporting requirements
- Proficient in tax software & Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, including S-Corporations, Partnerships, and C-Corporations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage and development a team of tax professionals
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and adept at problem solving
- Commitment to professional development and staying current with tax laws and regulations
Responsibilities
Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for a variety of entities, including S-Corps, partnerships and C-Corps.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and minimize tax liabilities for clients through proactive planning.
Tax Planning and Advisory:
- Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive tax strategies tailored to their specific needs and goals.
- Provide insightful guidance on tax implications of business decisions, investments, and estate planning
- Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide clients with accurate and timely advice.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of client engagements.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and resource for all tax-related matters.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, demonstrating a deep understanding of their financial and tax situations.
- Attend client meetings to discuss tax strategies, planning, and outcomes.
Quality Control and Risk Management:
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure accurate and error-free tax returns and documentation.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with tax compliance and reporting.
- Stay vigilant for emerging regulatory changes that could impact clients' tax obligations.
