Salary: $72,552.00 - $97,596.00 Yearly.

The Opportunity:
As the Trauma-Informed and Healing-Centered Care Manager, you will play a vital role in providing leadership for stakeholder/partner workgroups aimed at enhancing trauma-informed and healing-centered supports for early learning professionals. You will lead community partner review efforts and drive the long-term development of statewide workforce development initiatives to expand trauma-informed practice throughout the early care and education system.

Some of what you'll do:


  • Develop a statewide implementation plan in coordination with DCYF and
    other state agency partners and early learning planning efforts, lead agency
    improvement teams through the implementation process for the agency related to
    TIC initiatives.
  • As the designated expert, lead the current and future long-term development of statewide workforce development policies in expansion of trauma-informed practices throughout the early care and education systems.
  • Identify model(s) for TIC training statewide and conduct community-based partner/stakeholder review/input process to elicit feedback and modify model(s) according to feedback.
  • Examine national models for recruitment and preparation of a diverse and high qualified workforce.
  • Establish and facilitate a professional development workgroup and guide in establishing vision and strategic direction for completion of planning and implementations efforts for DCYF and its partners.
  • Lead implementation of identified priorities and strategies for Early Learning TIC.
  • Lead delivery of workforce professional development efforts related to TIC, including in person and virtual training in key content areas such as determined through planning efforts, research, analysis, and obtained data.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in public policy or administration, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in mental health, social work, and/or early childhood education. AND Foundation in early childhood education, child development, family systems and parenting, adult learning principles, ACES, Key Principles of Trauma-Informed Care, impact of preschool expulsion, and toxic stress.
Degree must be obtained from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or foreign equivalent verified by a NACES-approved organization at naces.org.

Foreign Equivalency certification must be attached to the application for degrees obtained outside the U.S. Incomplete applications may be screened out of the recruitment process.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Master's or PhD in Public Policy or Administration, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or the equivalent, clinical license or license eligible in mental health field.
  • Knowledge of infant mental health, infant-early childhood mental health consultation theoretical foundations, and evidence-based research.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with vulnerable children and families with ACES/trauma history.
  • Demonstrated experience working with early learning childcare or public health programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with reflective supervision and consultation.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating large system planning efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge to research, evaluate and draw conclusions from data to support recommendations with facts and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with equity and social justice issues and understanding of implicit bias as it relates to preschool expulsion and long-term outcome.
