JOB TITLE: Vice President of Operations of Georgia

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

LOCATION: Remote (Must live in Georgia)


Job Overview

As a Vice President of Operations for the State of Georgia you will be responsible for leading a designated group of dental practices across each of our growing territories. You will provide direction, leadership, and development of the region's teams. This position will focus on achieving financial objectives, operating efficiently, and ensuring practices provide excellent patient care. The VPO will achieve results by building high-performing teams, operations effectiveness, maximizing growth opportunities, understanding organizational initiatives, and ensuring successful implementation in practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Managing overall productivity and profitability for multiple dental office locations
  • Lead the region with strong guidance and inspire the team to excel in areas of performance including patient care, revenue growth, collections and instill high level of self-accountability on a daily basis.
  • Provide continuous direction and support to direct reports and raise awareness on operational priorities like productivity, schedule management, expense management, billing, authorizations, approvals, claims management and increasing new patient flow.
  • Analyze business and financial data on a daily basis to recognize and build on strengths, provide daily feedback to Practice Managers to improve weak areas of performance and identify anomalies occurring in the region.
  • Identify, develop and recruit high caliber talent internally and continuously build a healthy pipeline of future leaders
  • Partner with the human resources department for coaching and guidance regarding personnel management, including performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and performance warnings.
  • Managing all day-to-day operations of assigned territory, including employee relations, patient relations, and achieving operational goals
  • Increasing patient growth and retention by supporting sales, marketing, and promotional programs
  • Motivate team members, resolve conflicts, and make difficult decisions.
  • Ability to analyze business reporting and create recommendation/action to attain yearly budget goals.
  • Prioritizing supported practice performance issues to ensure issues impacting growth, revenue, and profitability (EBITDA) are addressed first.
  • Assisting with the acquisition strategy for the region over the next 1-3 years
  • Monitor the P&L statements for each supported practice and develop effective ways to close the gaps between actual performance and company projections.
  • Responsible for hiring, training and coaching Practice Managers
  • Develop workforce planning, recruiting and retention strategy to maintain optimum performance of each supported practice.
  • Achieving revenue goals by effectively managing the office teams, patient scheduling, staff productivity, and collections and receivables
  • Ensuring successful execution of operational standards, including compliance with established company policies and procedures
  • Handling all escalated patient service issues to ensure excellent guest satisfaction
  • Building team morale to support company culture.
  • Creating staff schedules as needed
  • Holding one-on-one meetings with practice managers
  • Organizing monthly team meetings
  • Presenting treatment plans and assisting guests with overcoming financial obstacles as needed
  • Completing daily and monthly reporting
  • Attending meetings and communicating with other departments as needed
  • Performing all other duties assigned

Requirements (Education, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5+ years of dental practice management with at least 2+ years managing multiple practices
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Prior P&L management experience
  • Frequent travel within the region
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented and success driven.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding relationship-building, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to build a comfortable and approachable relationship with patients and team members.
  • Valid driver's license and active car insurance
