Job Description

Summary:

The Chief of Staff will support the Senior Executive Vice President (future CEO) across all functions with a focus on strategic initiatives and driving successful delivery. This role will be instrumental in succession planning that integrates with the business strategy and yields an agile organization. This role has three primary areas of focus: Leadership Support, Collaborative Program & Strategic Planning and Management, and Information Management & Communication.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership Support

Objective: As a critical member of the leadership team, serve as a representative and champion for Insight across the enterprise serving as liaison and eliminating noise to allow the senior leadership team to focus on the most important work.

  • Identify opportunities to serve as SEVP proxy, as appropriate

  • Serve as an integrator to create greater team cohesion and inspire further engagement in the vision/strategy to ensure the SEVP is focused on what is most important

  • Become a trusted advisor, thought partner, confidante, and sounding board for the SEVP

  • Develop and foster strategic relationships that further the brand

Collaborative Program & Strategic Planning and Management

  • Lead collaboration across the organization through the planning process, creating alignment and accountability among the senior leadership team

  • Facilitate a fully integrated approach to the execution of the mid-term strategic and short-term business plan

  • Partner with the SLT to communicate changes to the organization as priorities shift

  • Collaborate with leaders to drive Strategy development and documentation in coordination with Market Leads

  • Driving accountability for progress against strategic milestones and ensure the business priorities move from conception to completion

  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with key internal and external constituencies, with a focus on resolving as many internal questions and issues as possible

  • Partner with the SLT to take ownership and accountability for key priorities, as appropriate

  • Vett and provide feedback and action-oriented delivery on programs and other key initiatives (Real Estate, Workforce Management, Performance Reporting, Requisition Governance, etc.)

Information Management & Communication

  • Acquire, verify, and distribute information for the

  • Gather information and integrate data to develop and manage monthly/quarterly/annual/ad-hoc executive level reporting for, including required cadence for Annual Planning, Quarterly Business Reports, etc., paying close attention to detail for accuracy and insight

  • Consult on and prepare executive-level presentations (both internal and external, as appropriate), serving as the voice of the executive in meetings as appropriate

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have direct reports but may provide guidance, leadership, or training to others.

  • Strong writer, capable of preparing written reports for senior leaders that effectively summarize strategic updates and initiatives

  • Able to coordinate and drive progress for cross-functional initiatives, working closely with department heads and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution

  • Can manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the SEVP, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables

  • Experienced at developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry associations

  • Able to prepare presentations and reports for the SEVP and executive team, summarizing key metrics, initiatives, and risks

  • Experience analyzing emerging trends and opportunities and providing recommendations on strategic investments and partnerships

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial or technology discipline

  • MBA preferred

  • 12-15 years of experience in a strategic or operational role

  • Strong project management skills with experience managing complex projects and initiatives

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with or influencing senior leadership

  • Knowledge of the mortgage or financial industry is preferred

Language Skills:

Ability to read words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to comprehend and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Customer Service Relationships:

Requires moderate interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met. Acknowledges and clarifies customer inquiries, requests, or complaints to ensure that needs are identified, documented and addressed.

Work Complexity:

Problems and issues faced are frequently complex and multi-dimensional, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact areas outside of immediate responsibility. Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the underlying issue and root cause of the problem.
