The individual in this role leads the collaborative formulation and execution of a visionary strategic roadmap for the organization, working hand in hand with the CEO to propel the organization toward its objectives with unwavering confidence. The role of VP Strategy, Health & Science assumes the mantle of a thought-leader and trusted advisor in the realm of health services delivery and research, steering the organization toward new horizons of excellence and innovation. This role spearheads the establishment and oversight of a dynamic industry populated strategic advisory committee, harnessing collective expertise to drive the organization's initiatives forward with precision and foresight.


The VP Strategy, Health & Science establishes strategic alliances with key healthcare improvement and legislative stakeholders, strategically positioning the organization to amplify its visibility, leverage social capital, and secure new funding streams. Additionally, this role will contribute decisively to the expansion of the organization's business development portfolio, identifying and seizing opportunities that align with overarching goals and propel the organization toward sustainable growth and impact.


Deliverables
:


  • **Strategic Directional Plan**: Develop a comprehensive strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO, outlining the organization's long-term objectives, key initiatives, and actionable steps to achieve them. Timeline: Initial draft plan within first 30 days. Final plan CEO approved plan within 90 days. Management of plan is ongoing.

  • **Thought Leadership Initiatives**: Lead the development and dissemination of thought leadership content, including white papers, research publications, and presentations, to position the organization as an authority in health services delivery and research. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Strategic Advisory Committee**: Establish and manage a strategic advisory committee composed of industry experts and stakeholders to provide insights, guidance, and strategic direction for organizational initiatives. Timeline: Full implementation within 180 days.


  • **Partnership Identification and Collaboration**: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to advance the organization's visibility, social capital, and funding opportunities. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Business Development Pipeline Contribution**: Contribute to the organization's business development pipeline by identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth, including new programs, services, partnerships, and funding sources. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Performance Metrics and Reporting**: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and regularly report progress to senior leadership and stakeholders. Initial draft plan within first 30 days. Final plan CEO approved plan within 90 days. Management of KPIs are ongoing.

  • **Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management**: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare leaders, researchers, funders, and policymakers, to garner support for organizational objectives and initiatives. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Innovation and Continuous Improvement**: Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization by staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and integrating them into strategic planning and decision-making processes.   • **Budget Planning and Resource Allocation**: Collaborate with finance and senior leadership to develop annual budgets and allocate resources effectively to support strategic priorities and initiatives. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Risk Management and Mitigation**: Identify potential risks and challenges to the organization's strategic objectives and develop proactive mitigation strategies to address them effectively. Timeline: Ongoing

  • **Team Leadership and Development**: Provide leadership and guidance to team members involved in strategic planning, business development, and partnership initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Timeline: Ongoing
